Well, I hope they’re as successful with this campaign as the Cubs are on the baseball field. — Nancy Pelosi’s one-liner on GOP strategists’ proposed campaign to launch race-baiting attack ads on Obama. (via think-progress)

Yeah… I don’t really need to put any snarky remarks in response to this one because it’s, well… true.

Genius. I’m still sad I didn’t try to go/apply there when I was in high school.

They must have 24-hour groundskeepers to keep it so nice…
Wow, an entire semester has almost passed already. That is a bit ridiculous… I’ve turned in almost all of my paperwork to move to upper-division classes for my major next semester, which is extremely exciting. Hopefully my grades will hold up through the end of the current one so that I may finally see something above a 3.5 gpa. It’s been absolutely crazy how lazy I’ve been in college so far and more so that I’ve been able to get away with it.
The next step for me is to finally get a job, I guess, and maybe just grow up a little more (whatever that means.) Where should I get a job? I have no clue. I know I should and could get one at any reasonable place I can imagine, but for some reason there’s always this wall in my way when it comes to following up on my applications. What do I even say when I do that? “Hi there. I was just calling to see if you saw my application.” just sounds so weird.
I also managed to unearth a new passion this year in dance. It’s been a fantastic couple months so far and I’ve met some amazing people doing it. Going to the Capital Swing Dance Convention was a fantastic experience and hopefully I can get the opportunity to go to SwingDiego as well.
From an emotional perspective, this year has been a bit strange so far. I’ve felt happy (rather than content) for the first time in a long while. I still have been sad on the off occasion that I listen to the wrong song or see something that invokes a memory that sets me off, but it’s surprising how few and far between those occurrences are. Best of all, I don’t miss my ex any more. I haven’t since this year began and it has been an amazing feeling. I can’t say I don’t miss anyone, but who really can?
Here’s to another great four months.
P.S.: Hopefully I can snap some more pictures when it stops raining.

Wow. Not much else to say about this one.
Robert Reich: The Fable of the Century -
Imagine a country in which the very richest people get all the economic gains. They eventually accumulate so much of the nation’s total income and wealth that the middle class no longer has the purchasing power to keep the economy going full speed. Most of the middle class’s wages keep falling and…
Interesting.
